ABSTRACT: This text aims to present results of the mapping of scientific productions developed in Graduate Programs in Education — Doctorate, Academic Masters and Professional Masters — theses, dissertations, dissertations/products and scientific articles on the subject. Which corroborated the investigation on Ethnic-Racial Relations (RER) in the initial training of Basic Education teachers, in Licentiate courses in Letters offered by Federal Universities in the state of Minas Gerais. It is a documental and bibliographic analysis using as main sources the Legal Guidelines and the Pedagogical Projects of the Courses (PPC). In 2020, seven active courses were identified, in the on-site modality, in the Universities: UNIFAL, UFJF, UFMG, UFOP, UFSJ, UFU and UFV. The study had as reference the black-Brazilian category studied by Cuti (2010), pseudonym of Luiz Silva and the methodological design involves bibliographic and documental analysis, anchored in the approach of qualitative research with an interpretive basis (BOGDAN; BIKLEN, 1994; FLICK, 2009; CELLARD, 2008). The study of "Ethnic-Racial Relations" appears in all PPC in attendance Law No. 10.639/2003 instituted the mandatory study of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture in school curricula in Brazil and, later, the Law n.º 11,645/2008 determined the teaching on the History of indigenous culture. During the bibliographical research, we realized how challenging and at the same time motivating for our continuing education. The activity provided access to the works, through diving in the research universe and, thus, it broadened its perspectives and created possibilities and reflections on the investigated theme. And, consequently, it corroborated the choice of the methodological path. We also registered the contribution to the universe of courses offered by the seven investigated public HEIs (UNIFAL , UFJF, UFMG, UFOP, UFSJ, UFU AND UFV), to promote this theme in future dissertations and theses in these institutions.
